What do we mean by MCS approval?
The MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) is a certification program that verifies the quality and performance of renewable energy systems. It is designed to ensure that all products meet certain standards, including safety, environmental impact, and efficiency. The MCS is an important part of the UK’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and promoting renewable energy sources.
Why do I need MCS approval?
MCS approval is essential for homeowners who want to install renewable energy systems in their homes. MCS approved products are of a higher quality and performance than non-approved products, meaning they will be more efficient and cost-effective in the long run.
Additionally, MCS approved products are eligible for financial incentives, such as rebates, energy schemes, and other government-sponsored programs. These incentives can help homeowners save money on the purchase and installation of energy efficient products.
Can I install a heat pump system myself?
Installing a heat pump system is not something that should be attempted by an inexperienced individual. Heat pumps are complex systems and require specialised knowledge and experience to install correctly. Additionally, MCS approved products must be installed by an accredited installer in order to qualify for financial incentives.
Unitherm Heating Systems provides full MCS Design & Sign Off services, taking the responsibility for the design and paperwork so that the installation meets all relevant regulations.
